“Ladies and gents this is the moment you’ve waited for…”
Hello lovelies! Ahhhh I’m so excited about today’s post because it’s inspired by my new obsession which is The Greatest Showman. I have done a whole post about my thoughts on this film which you can check out here, but today’s post is a little different.
I really fancied doing a make up look, and when I was thinking about what I wanted to go for, I was actually listening to The Greatest Showman soundtrack. I got my make up out, choosing which shades I wanted to use when I looked at the soundtrack album cover on my itunes. I thought wait. Why don’t I create a make up look inspired by the film! I thought this would be a lot of fun and something I’ve not really seen anyone do.
For my base, I started off by applying the Collection Lasting Perfection concealer in “Extra Fair”. I used to use “Fair”, but Collection recently released this new shade which is perfect for my lighter skin tone. I never wear foundation because it feels too heavy and I like my skin to still look pretty natural, so I just stick with concealer for the main coverage.
I then used my Rimmel Stay Matte powder in “Transparent” to set my concealer. I also apply it over the rest of my face to take away any shine. This is the best powder and it’s so affordable!
I used the Maybelline Brow Artist in “Dark Blonde” to fill in my eyebrows. As this look is pretty full on, I filled them in quite a lot as I think it creates more of an impact.
I decided to go all the way with the highlight as I think it really captures the magic of the film. I used the Freedom Highlighter in “Glow” and the Technic Rainbow highlighter. I applied these on the bridge of my nose, tops of my cheekbones, brow bone and my cupids bow.
I started off by using a couple of icy blue shades from the Technic Eye Shimmer palette as these colours are heavily used on the sountrack album cover. I applied these to the inner corner and the inner third of my eye. I then took the shade “Half Baked” from the Urban Decay Naked palette and applied it to the centre of my lid. Lastly, I used the shade “Darkhorse” and applied it to my outer corner to deepen the crease. I wanted this to reflect the deep/sad moments of the film.
I chose the Revlon Ultra HD Matte lip in “Love”. This gorgeous red shade reminded me of P.T. Barnum’s bright red jacket that he wears during shows! I think it compliments the dark gold eyes so well. I also used this incredible lipstick,
I really hope you enjoyed this post. It was so much fun to create a look inspired by a film that means so much to me. Thank you so much for reading lovelies and I’ll see you in my next one!
